I booked a wash and cut over the phone with Lorraine, the salon owner, who confirmed the price. It was my first visit having recently moved into the area looking for a new salon. I do however normally have a wash and cut / wet cut, which I've had in various other salons. After the cut I was asked if I wanted a blow dry and whether I wanted it wavy. I said just natural, no straighteners. This is in line with what other hairdressers have asked me/offered. I was surprised when I came to pay that I was charged £9 more. When I queried this I was told this was because I had had a cut and blow dry. I said I didn't want to walk out of the salon with wet hair, to which I was told 'oh that's a blast dry'. Firstly I am not a hairdresser so how I should know the terminology. Secondly, and most crucially, why would you offer something to a client (which they had not even originally booked for) without telling them that you are charging more for it? To top it off, whilst I was asking these questions I was holding my credit card and kept getting nudged to pay. Despite the fact it was clear why I hadn't yet proceeded. Rather than any understanding of what had happened I was met with a defense/excuse, despite not trying to be confrontational. So I was disappointed that despite being happy with the cut I was left with a bitter taste. It comes across as a sneaky attempt to overcharge, which I don't understand from a business perspective where client loyalty is a factor. Needless to say I won't be returning.
Cleanliness rated low because there was a dog freely roaming inside the salon.

I always come away feeling very happy with the way Lorraine does my hair. This is a lovely salon and the staff are highly experienced and professional. A very friendly service and I would definitely recommend.

Was running a little bit late, but friendly efficient and was really pleased with the result, kept in all day with no effort very happy. Don't go to hairdressers very often but will go again

A friend recommended this hair salon and it was coming up to my sister's wedding so needed a good cut and definitely a colour!! So on the advice of a friend rang and got an appointment ...I was glad of the friendly atmosphere as was a tad nervous felt like she listened and gave me some good advice on what colour to go for and even persuaded me to have a bit cut off which I hate having done ..I'm now on my 5th visit and always feel Fab after the cut and colour ..never feel rushed ..always chatty and friendly ..the dogs are great ?...I would recommend this hair salon to anyone looking for somewhere ??

I hadn't had a haircut in over 9 months and my hair had lost its shape and bounce (I have curly hair prone to occasional frizz). I was impressed by HSH's opening hours and the information on the website so I made an appointment.

Lorraine was great from the moment the consultation started, giving lots of tips for my hair type and caring for the hair in addition to really listening to what I wanted. She recommended some great product types to try as well, without pushing salon only brands which might not have worked.

The cut was brilliant, lifting the whole style and creating volume and movement, while still keeping my length. I'd definitely go back in future. The salon also had a lovely homely atmosphere which was great to see.

I went today with my little girl to have her first haircut. The hairdresser Lorraine was fantastic and made the experience for emily amazing. We certainly will be back

I have been going to this salon for while now and have my hair done by Lorraine who always listen carefully to what I want manages to achieve the result I wanted.
I always feel so welcomed and looked after while I’m here (it’s a real treat!)

Jenny is a wonderful hairdresser highly talented, and professional with a beautiful bubbly personality. Really enjoyed my experience with her and loved the way she did my hair which was tailored around the make up, outfit and event. Lovely salon very friendly staff great atmosphere. I had a good vibe from the phone call I made for my appointment the day before. and my first impressions of walking in to the salon was felt welcomed and they made me feel welcome in every way. I like the way they take a photo before and after as it's shows you how you look when you first walked in and that makes you feel special and you can see the full change at the end. I felt special when I walked out and I would recommend them to anybody. My other half love it. Even my two young children felt welcome and that may me even happier thank you so much ?

Jasmine was and still is over the moon with her new hair! Friendly and warm welcome and great atmosphere. They really couldn't do more to make you feel at ease. Excellent prices, and we will continue to keep coming back.

Fabulous place for a great hair raising experience. Such friendly staff. Very relaxed and calm. I was offered a drink when I went in. Had a most enjoyable hair wash and massage. Lorraine has a very professional and personal attitude with plenty of great advice on hair. I love all the decor in the hair dressers along with all the great quotes and pictures. I know a lot of people who visit this hair dressers they are very popular!
