I'm sorry you feel like this PE. Here's some facts about our CCTV. I hope they will make you feel assured that the system is not to be feared; it is here to stay.
a) There is the required signage as you enter the zone covered by CCTV. You will find this at the front steps.
b) The decision to fit CCTV was not taken lightly, especially as it is a very expensive piece of equipment which brings zero return on investment. However, there were a series of incidents - including two incidents involving intimidation which involved the Police. So, reluctantly, we took their advice and fitted CCTV.
c) We followed, and continue to follow, the Information Commissioner's Office code of practice for CCTV: "In the picture". This is available online for anyone to read.
d) The cameras are not there to spy on anyone, they are there to record images for the purposes of crime prevention and public safety. The safety of my staff and my customers was paramount in our decision to fit the system.
