About us

Established over 30 years ago by Lauren Turner, this sustainable and environmentally friendly salon offers a relaxed, warm and friendly ambience that creates a fabulous atmosphere where clients are treated to a 5 star service.

The team are trained to the highest standards in all aspects of hairdressing and enjoy regular courses to keep their skills updated, on trend and innovative. That’s why the salon has won numerous British Hairdressing Awards, an accolade to all our amazing clients, and a credit to the hard work that this team consistently put forward. We continue to strive for the best service possible and hope you can see how we enjoy making our clients feel extra special!

For years I hated going to the hairdressers, I hate being messed around with , I hate having to sit in front of a mirror and finally walk out with something I didn’t want , I’m sure I speak for many women who feel self conscious and awkward !
Then I found Livvy in this lovely Salon !
It’s more of a social occasion than an apt and Livvy goes out of her way to make you feel relaxed and welcomed . She listens and she does what you ask , no blow dry , no problem !
It’s the first salon I feel truly comfortable and listened too - shes not just a very talented hairdresser, she’s an amazing ‘people person’ too .

I'm SO happy I found Spirit Hair and Serena ❤️ From the moment I met her three months before my appointment I knew she was the stylist for me. Very experienced, knowledgeable and a real pleasure to chat through my ideas with. At the appointment, as soon as I walked into the salon I felt very welcome and like a regular client (this was my first time with them). They made me feel comfortable all day, the vibe in the salon was very happy and positive and the clients chatted to one another too. I was one of three having a big colour treatment that day and we all had a story to share about our journeys. The time went really quickly, and I enjoyed every minute of being pampered. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough and I will most definitely be going back for more! Serena was just as excited as I was to see the finished result, and I would highly recommend her for her experience, care and listening skills...I got exactly what I had asked her for at my initial consultation back in August. She was definitely worth the wait. Thank you so much to all the team at Spirit 💜

Lauren normally cuts and colours my thin, awkward hair, however this time, due to an impromptu booking, she cut and her daughter coloured.
As ever VERY happy with results and lovely red purple, blonde highlights which last forever.

Coming to Spirit is my sanctuary and a special treat for me. You pay for a whole experience - a detailed consultation, a wide drinks selection, and my favourite...a head massage! It's like a visit to a spa. I hadn't been for years due to living abroad and financial situation but now I'm back I didn't realise how much I missed it. This visit I only had a cut and blow dry but the cut was exceptional and the service wonderful, thank you Lauren and your staff for always making me feel part of the family. Everyone is so welcoming, you look after my every needs from coffee, biscuits to the most amazing head massage which nine times out of ten makes me want to go to sleep. It is a pleasure having my hair done, roll on next month for the full pampering session, colours, cut and blow dry.

This was a task but I was looked after from start to finish! Liz has done an amazing job changing my colour from a faded red box colour to a very sophisticated more natural colour with hi lites. It was a tricky job, but I was reassured throughout. The cut is amazing too..I completely trust and felt in very capable hands. I knew it wouldn't be an easy task but the team who worked with Liz exceeded my expectations!! I am so pleased with the result! So thankyou Liz and the girls who tended to my needs. I will be returning. The salon was clean, the girls are all very professional and obviously know what they are doing, but most of all I felt welcome and that it wasn't a chore..
