I have very tricky, long and frizzy hair so when I got my first ever pay check, I decided to go and treat myself and get my hair done somewhere nice. I went to Toni and Guy Chester and was blown away from start to finish. The way you’re greeted when you walk in, choice of hot drinks, meeting Mel Kimpton for the first time and getting to know her and her getting to know me and my hair, and her doing her magic. This was about 5/6 years ago now and it hasn’t changed to this day. I would never let anyone else touch my hair and I have complete faith in Mel. She is incredibly talented and humble, full of energy and the work she does is worth 10x what I pay!!

Mel is the most amazing hairdresser! When I first came to her I had super long hair and had been to several hairdressers that didn't know how to cut it nicely or just got carried away and cut way too much off! With Mel I don't even need to say exactly what I want because I trust her to make it look amazing every time. Always feel like a princess when I leave the salon and the cuts stay looking gorgeous for ages! Best hairdresser I've ever had wouldn't trust anyone else to cut it now!

I've been using toni & guy for over 20 years and have stuck with Mel for nearly 10 years. Im a working mum and dont have time to follow fashion but she keeps my hair bang up to date with styles that suit me. I thoroughly trust her knowledge and creativity, She's given me many styles over the years, short and long, ive always been happy and ive found every style manageable. I love her creativity. She's professional, attentive and a good conversation.

I walked into Toni & Guy, Chester, several years ago after a botch job at another salon and was lucky enough to be given an appointment with Mel. She rescued my hair cut from hell and I haven’t let anyone else cut it ever since. I’m fairly reserved with my ‘mum cut’, not straying from one particular style, but Mel does an amazing job of either sticking to the brief (just giving me the basic trim I’m after) or encouraging me to change it up a bit every now and again. I’ve also worked with Mel professionally as she’s styled my bridal models on editorial shoots for my wedding business. I’ve loved watching her grow in confidence and technique over the last few years and seeing the brilliant work she posts on her styled shoots and creative demonstrations. Not only is she an incredibly talented stylist but she’s also a very lovely, warm and friendly person and I always look forward to a catch up when she cuts my hair x

With having bad experience in the past at other salon's. I was very nervous to try another, so thought I would give toni & guy a go. So pleased I did. Sian the style director made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. When it came to the end & the finishing touches, well I really wanted to cry, but didn't. Tears of such happiness. Excellent cut & excellent style. I would be definitely going back as Sian is now my hairdresser. I'm really one happy client. I really couldn't thank her enough and her title says it all. Probably the best experience and service I’ve ever had at a hairdressers. Gary was warm and professional, developing an easy rapport that far surpassed conversation about boyfriends and holidays. The rest of the staff were equally professional and thoughtful in their approach. Top marks all round.

I love everything about Toni & Guy in Chester. Hannah coloured my hair and Katy B cut it, both to perfection. I went in looking like Mrs Overall and came out like Sophia Loren! Staff are lovely - it’s a shame I can’t mention them all.
