I love this salon, all staff are super, really friendly and want to build lasting relationships with their clients. You know when you go into the salon that many people have been going for years . I lived in England briefly and came back every 6 weeks to get my hair cut! The salon itself is modern, fresh and inviting. Each of the stylists really know their stuff and their juniors are attentive and really want to learn. I don’t think you could get a friendlier more reasonably priced salon in Edinburgh.

Beautifully cut and styled by kerry and i dont think i have had a nicer cut in 40 years and thats no exaggeration. The salon is lovely and relaxed. Well recommended.

From the time I walked I in for my appointment, I was made to feel welcomed. From my wash to cut to style, I felt I was in knowledgeable, friendly hands. Kerry provided lots of information and suggestions and cut and styled my hair beautifully.

Kerry has been my hair stylist for over 10yrs now. She is extremely professional and highly experienced. She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to advising colours and styles and I have never been disappointed. Highly recommend “McLaren Ross” for a hair cut and colour. Friendly and experienced staff.

Sonia did a cracking job in both ‘hosting’ and cutting. A bit more expensive than the barbers but you get what you pay for and the quality of service was worth the outlay. I’ll definitely be making a return visit!
Sonia cut and coloured my hair today as Kerry is on holiday. I was extremely pleased with the cut and different colours Sonia put into my hair. She also spent a lot of time styling my hair. Thoroughly recommend Sonia
Always receive a warm welcome from the girls. The salon is an open and friendly place. Had a lovely head massage as part of the cut and blow dry. Great advice given for hair maintenance. Very reasonably priced. Fantastic service all round! Would recommend to all. Dog friendly.
Haven’t had a haircut in ages and am always quite anxious getting one done, but Sonia was fabulous. Very attentive and great communication about what I wanted and what she was going to do. The ladies took such great care! Had a fab hair wash with a head massage, was offered some tea and magazines while getting my haircut. Sonia did exactly what I’d asked and really ensured that I was comfortable the whole time, communicating what she was doing! Would definitely recommend going in for a cut and style. She gave me a fab blow dry afterwards too. Thanks Sonia! Will definitely be back. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great place to get your hair done

Kerry was absolutely lovely and hugely skilled. I literally hate having my hair done but Kerry put me at ease and helped me make decisions on the best way to have my hair cut. She took time to educate me on how to style my new hair cut and was really mindful of how little time I have to eat ready. The salon dog is lovely too! Will definitely be back.
In my whole life I've never been back to the same hairdresser more than twice but I've been going to Kerry every couple of months for over a year now! The girls are lovely and welcoming and give great advice.. finally a hairdresser I actually trust and love going to thank you! :)

Sonia always delivers on service. She know my hair so well and always knows what’s best. She helped my transition to grey, couldn’t have done it without her. I love my new hair. Friendly and fun salon which is laid back but the staff are passionate about what they do. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed!

I recently had a baby and you may think that would make it difficult to spend a few hours getting my hair done - not at McLaren Ross. Rather than having to arrange a sitter or just avoid the hairdressers entirely, Kerry made sure I was given an appointment at a quiet time. The girls all fussed over and looked after my wee boy so wonderfully... I barely held him once and he had such a brilliant time. Sonia even insisted on changing his nappy which I really felt was well above and beyond the call of duty! I was given plenty of hot drinks and water. Kerry made sure that I was able to feed whenever baby wanted and I had plenty of time to break from hair pampering whenever I needed to. I have never been made to feel uncomfortable about bringing my baby to the salon and in fact, he is always welcomed with lots of cuddles from everyone. It makes the experience of being a new mum that bit easier and less daunting!
Kerry listened to what I wanted in a haircut and kindly redid a bit of hair colour I wasn’t so keen on 2 days after my appointment.

I always look forward to my appointment. Not only to get my grey hair re-covered, my highlights brightened up, my ends trimmed and shaped... but Good advice on how to look after, and get the best from my hair. Which products suit my needs and budget. I can catch up on the latest magazines, cuppa/treat ( and seasonal extras) and to complete my visit there’s the real feeling of genuinely being looked after - by every member of staff. Normally I meet 3 hr appointment to get my hair done with dread, but Kerry and her team have made this something I look forward to. They are so friendly and always make an effort. I am so happy with my results Kerry suggested changing up my colour and I could not be happier. I like it when a stylist has ideas and suggestion and Kerrys have always been just on point. I’ve been going every 6/8 week for the last year and I have never been disappointed. I am very fussy and before Kerry I traveled hours to get my hair cut and coloured. I have recommended to friends and they all love Kerry and the girls. Genuinely a gem of a salon. Cannot recommend highly enough.
