James has been cutting my hair since the salon opened in Haddington. He’s fabulous: he has a meticulous attention to detail, is really patient, and always has great chat. The salon is beautiful and the staff are all very welcoming.

A few months ago I arrived into this wonderful salon with a haircut that was poorly cut by another salon, I was upset but hopefully I would find someone that could help. I was introduced to James who over the past few months has carefully styled my hair to correct the error. Chapter one and James is now a place I happily walk into knowing I will be receiving wonderful hair care along with lovely chat, delicious cappuccinos and smiles.
I highly recommend this salon, you will feel like a million dollars walking both in and out confident in the fact that you are in great hands.

It’s not just the amazing venue and beautiful, friendly, easy going staff, it’s not just the relaxed atmosphere or the hypnotic massage chair or even the wonderful smelling products, it’s so much more.

It’s a therapeutic sensory spa experience which always feels very special.

James is a true artist and a credit to his profession.
His undivided attention is very person centered which makes me feel like I am the only client in the salon (even on a busy Saturday morning).

James understand me in a way that previous stylists haven’t.
He knows what I need every time without me having to say much at all and somehow manages to makes me look younger, brighter and fresher with it (no mean feat).

I LOVE the Haddington Salon, everything is great. One slight frustration is the inconsistency with the assistants offering head massages, sometimes you get one, sometimes you don’t. It’s the bit I look forward too, I mean who doesn’t. And yesterday she never offered me one - devo! Anyhow no biggie, just some feedback.

Great hair cut and colour. As always James is ver patient and can't do enough to make sure you leave the salon happy with how your hair is looking. I appreciate his patience and expertise in hairdressing and am very happy with how my looks today. Thanks to all the staff as well for making my visit to the salon a very pleasant experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed my salon experience at Chapter one as well as being really happy with the tone of my highlights! I immediately knew I was in experienced hands with Cameron and she understood exactly what I wanted. She created a light, cooling tone to my highlights which has lasted really well. I really like the Salon decor and spacious, light, modern space. The massage chair while getting hair washed was a plus too! I’m very happy with my hair and experiences at the salon!

This is my second time coming to Chapter one to see James, and I’m just as happy as I was the first time. It’s tricky to find a hairdresser you can trust completely but I feel totally safe with James - that he understands what I’m asking for and always goes above and beyond to deliver. James is always spot on with his cuts and guidance on treatments due to my eczema and sensitive scalp. The friendly staff always provide top quality service as well.
