First time I’ve been to Toni and guy. Had my hair cut by Sam and this is the first time I’ve been genuinely happy with my hair cut. Sam was knowledgable and friendly. Nice atmosphere in the salon and I’ll definitely be going back. Very happy customer.

I had a bob cut with amber and she did a very lovely job, just what I asked for and was happy to change things if I needed. She made lovely conversation and was very friendly and not too pushy with products, the scalp massage with hair washing was also perfect!

Had a moustuirising treatment put on that didn't make the slightest bit of difference. By the end of it, my hair looked okay, but not extraordinary. My daughter (a teenager) had her haircut that was okay but the styling of it looked very datedv old fasioned and boring! Not what an adult would want, let alone a teenager. Not what I expected from Tony and Guy! My hairdresser was friendly, hers hardly spoke or had any expression. Paid £200 for cut and colour and mostuirising treatment for me and a haircut for a child under 14. Too much money which had been justified had the results been amazing but they were not! The prize definitely did not reflect on the results.

As always, it was a pleasure to have Toni style my hair today. She is a skilled stylist (which is obviously why she is an Art director!) and good company.

Colour was fine but felt let down by the blow-dry. The young junior - who was given the job after my colour process - while very nice, seemed to lack confidence and was inexperienced. Having a ‘bob’ hairstyle I would have thought this to have been relatively easy. I do not blame the young lady as I feel she should have been given sufficient training and supervision before being giving responsibility for the final ‘look’ after an expensive appointment. Not sure if I’ll be returning.

Having tried many different salons/hairdressers across Colchester, Chelmsford, Braintree I can hand on heart say this is by an absolute mile the best. The service you receive as well as, most importantly, the cut, is far superior.

This was my first time at TONI and Guy and it was great. I will most definitely be going back to Braintree salon.

The shampoo was excellent, the cut was ok. *****, the stylist, is a nice girl and I would have appreciated a little more conversation throughout. I tried to engage, but all she could do was ‘sell me product’. It was quite annoying. It was obvious that she was under pressure to do so. It would have been nice if she asked questions about me, instead of the products I use on my hair. That would have been acceptable if I started the conversation about how I can’t get my hair to perform or look a certain way but her emotional intelligence was lacking when it came to making a connection. I think the owners need to understand that clients are not stupid, we know when someone is not genuine or trying to sell us something. You should focus more on the experience rather then making money, because that will come with authenticity.

As it was my first time ever having my hair styled I was nervous, but Danielle was a top professional and made me feel at ease! Will definitely be back in the future!

I've been a bit reticent to write a review as the people in this salon are great but my satisfaction is pretty low. In general, on the day my experience was fairly good, well looked after and a really friendly (but I suspect quite jr stylist). The salon was comfortable and relaxing until late in the day when it turned absolutely freezing! I asked for my roots to be taken care of and wanted a really bright colour put on the layer underneath (something I've had done before) wanted a red/purple but left it to the stylist's discretion beyond that. The stylist did highlights through the top of my head, which I did wonder how would cover my roots, but trusting she knew what she was doing i went with it. After a long process of these, development and washing out, she applied the bright colour while my hair was wet (never come across that before) and once developed applied a nice treatment etc. Once dry she styled it and I got to see the colours, at this point the highlights looked good and the colour, a kind of lavender-totally not what I asked for but still, a colour i could be happy with. She did some amazing styling and managed a curly blow out in my hair which is pretty impossible usually so it looked stunning ... but it just didn't last. After she'd finished she told me the colour would last either 10 weeks or 10 washes... neither of which is Great, I thought I was getting a proper colour. One week later and the colour was gone (so I guess it was the latter) and 2 weeks later my roots were totally visible again. I'm left a bit distraught as my style didn't stick around at all for the festive season!

Overall, a salon of nice people and some great styling, but for the nearly £200 I paid to get my hair done, I think I'd happily keep myself in supply of bottles of dye and do it myself, just going in for a curly blow out if I have a big night out coming up!

It was my daughter, 13, who had a cut and blow dry. The lady called Danielle was very friendly and my daughters hair looks and smells wonderful.

I had such a lovely time at my appointment today ! Sam greeted me with such a warm welcome and lovely smile i was shown to my chair and presented with a lovely cup of tea ! & Paul is such a lovely & friendly guy ! And my hair looks amazing !!! Hes so talented an absolute magician ! I believe and i apoligise if im mistaken but the young woman who blow dryed my hairs name was danielle ...? and she was absolutly charming and very attentive , i couldnt of been happier ! Specially at such a stressful time of year like christmas ! Im so pleased and have already booked my next appointment !!!! Cant wait !!! Thank you to all the team ! X x x

I can categorically say this is the best Toni and Guy I have been to in the country, the guys that run it are brilliant, friendly and extremely professional. I have been having highlights for 15 years and I now wouldn't go anywhere else. Please go here you won't be disappointed! They also do amazing discounts for 8am appointments and I think Thursdays?? I had lost faith in T&G until I went to this branch.

To start I made an enquiry if I could get an appointment for the same day, and as luck would have it I did, this was a bonus as I know Xmas season can be busy. I was made to feel very comfortable and I was able to chat to Danielle freely about my requirements.
Now it's been a couple of days after my haircut I must say I am very pleased with my hair, and will look forward to coming back in the new year.
