I came to this salon with a huge task, looking for a colour specialist to transform my DARK Cherry red box dye hair with lots of build up looking to get back to blonde eventually. I was politely recommended to find an colour expert by another salon as understandably there is a risk with removing this colour without just covering it with dark brown or waiting for it to grow out naturally. I knew there was potential for huge breakage and thought it would impossible. It was meant to be as I found Avant Garde and Charlie! Charlie rose to the challenge and not only removed the red but she got me to a very gorgeous strawberry blonde, hair intact and feeling GREAT and looking to getting to blonde even sooner than expected. She did a thorough consultation and discussed all possible outcomes, and spent a whole day with me in the salon to achieve a fantastic result. I really cannot praise her enough, her skills and knowledge saved my hair and it is so healthy. Charlie is lovely to chat about all sorts, have a laugh and I enjoy my visits with her so much. I have now had two sessions- I trust her completely and I’m so glad I found her and this salon! My hair is always finished and styled beautifully, and she recommends fantastic products to keep my hair shiny and feeling wonderful. All the staff are lovely and helpful, even from my initial call to book my consultation they knew exactly what I meant and who I needed and were so friendly. The salon itself is so peaceful and pretty. Always offered drinks and biscuits, and even a blanket! Very chilled vibe with gorgeous decor. I cannot recommend this salon enough. Charlie THANK YOU! Really enjoyed my first Avant Garde hair salon experience. Diane listened and advised as we talked through suitable style ideas to work towards. As my hair had become quite dry from weeks in the sun and the use of heated appliances I was offered a steam treatment which certainly resulted in much softer healthier looking hair. The chair massage was a treat too!
Finding a new stylist is always a concern but I was impressed with the professional approach and knowledge given by Diane. Pleased with the outcome and will certainly rebook.

I booked with yaz due to cost with the 30% off voucher.
When I arrived she was unwell so wasn't working.
Kindly Diane did my hair.
Diane was lovely, Great hair wash, blowdry and coffee.
I think I got charged Diane's price. Which wasn't explained to me before the treatment.
I think the salon is beautifully decorated.
Being in the industry I feel as a new salon key opportunities were missed.
I asked for a patch test but told it was too busy to do this. (I did say I could pop back another time)
She didn't ask if I would like to rebook and gentle sales conversation about products/hair maintenance was missed.
In the world of social media we live in a photo of the cut and blow dry she spent so much time on was missed to advertise herself/salon.
I do feel the salon as a whole is abit pricey.
Overall it was a positive experience.
I had a fab experience in the salon! I asked Diane to change my hair colour completely from a gingery brown to light blonde, and she totally delivered. I’m thrilled with the result. Thank you x

Would like to highlight the great friendly service I received with Diane . From my consultation where she listened to my needs , head massage & cut & blow dry I felt so looked after. Her cutting skills were something I’d never seen before & she reassured me throughout the process .
I felt comfortable in her company & I didn’t feel like I had to chat all the way through it & not enjoy the relaxation.
She advised me on colouring & what to do when I want to lighten my hair. She showed me how to blow dry my new style & what brushes to buy.
She didn’t rush it & was so precise , so my hair looked perfect. My daughter has now booked in to see Diane too!

My highlights had bleached in the summer and I wanted to bring in some darker tones to give a more autumnal feel - and cover grey. I actually feel like I've come away with what I asked for! Diane guided me through the colour and cut, and made me feel so ease. She was running late, but it didn't matter she still took her time, the whole experience didn't feel rushed. Big shout out to the girls who were still there after hours, helping each other with the end of the day tasks not rushing Diane or me .. what a team! Thank you ❤️

Charlie was amazing. Consultation was thorough and Charlie really listened to my needs. The hair wash chairs are the best and a foot rest and massage feels like you could go to sleep! Charlie used products to wash my hair that she recommended for my hair issues which were brilliant and I have since purchased to use myself. My cut is exactly what I asked for and I love it so much. Salon is lovely and open, lovely coffee, biscuits and sweets to enjoy whilst I had my cut done. Really friendly team when you arrive, can't wait to go back ?
