He is a very professional and pleasant person, I feel totally safe with his work.
I would only ask that the lady who helps Emily be more careful when washing the hair and putting a towel to avoid wetting her back, she left me very wet.

Deren was brilliant, made me feel super comfortable and gave me an excellent hair cut! Absolutely loving my new do.

Emily is an amazing hairdresser, she always takes the time at the beginning of each appointment to carefully listen to what result I want. Emily always provides knowledgable feedback on how we are going to achieve the hair style and talks through each step. Not only is the result always amazing, Emily is so personable and lovely throughout, so I always feel in safe hands and well looked after.

Always a lovely experience at Edward James. They make effort to make sure you feel pampered with a complimentary head massage and refreshments. Especially Jessica who is lovely and has been doing my colour for the last year. However, I wish the hairdressers who wash/rinse hair would learn to wash hair properly. I have thick hair and am always left with colour at the roots because it hasn’t been washed properly. It’s always an issue. A quick sweep of shampoo isn’t enough to wash colour out of thick hair..

Tasteful luxury and world class service on your doorstep. Feels more like a spa retreat when I go and worth every penny. Will never go anywhere else. Five stars!!

Danielle was fabulous - I came in for a cut toner and treatment to refresh my balayage ahead of a birthday party . Danielle was sensational I felt a million dollars all day.

Perfect! Enjoyed chatting about my hair high lights. G was very generous with the hair line and parting process and listened to giving me the best hair!

This salon is the best in Balham by far. They are attentive, expert and friendly. Jessica is absolutely amazing. She knows what is best for your hair in both colour and cut - I always get comments about my hair after I have seen her!

Gorgeously kitted out salon with a great buzz. Felt in very good hands from the start. Loved the little shoulder and head massage. Danielle was lovely and obviously very talented. I have been recommended this salon for years and I can see why.

Chris is great at listening to what I want from my balayage & adapting the colour to fit this. His technique is great and my hair looks better than I imagined, thank you will definitely be back for a top up in summer

Booked in a panic the same day, without even knowing exactly what I wanted. They slotted me in a couple of hours later, understood what I wanted despite my contradicting myself and talking rubbish, and were, as usual, professional, calm and kind. Nicest salons in London, low key, and flexible. There's never any bickering behind the scenes, no one stinks of cigarettes, the tea/coffee is lovely, the music is chilled etc. Everyone likes working there because Ed treats everyone with friendly respect. It's just a really nice place to go.

Hayley is such a fantastic stylist. The atmosphere at the salon is also lovely!

She always does exactly what I want and I always leave so happy, everyone in the salon is so lovely and polite and the receptionist always has a lovely smile and is very welcoming will be back in a few months

I’ve been searching for a stylist who can get my hair right for a long time! I colour my hair copper. Enough of a red to stand out but not tomato head! ? I get lots of compliments on it. I’ve tried several salons, many totally getting it wrong. Or getting it on point once but then epic fail the next time. Or using products which don’t last. Red hair is notoriously hard to maintain. Jessica smashes it for me every time. And offers great impartial advice on products to maintain the colours longevity. I 100% Wouldn’t trust anyone else to touch my hair. Plus the cheeky glass of Prosecco + a quick relaxation massage makes the whole experience heavenly!

Jessica is a wonderful stylist - always willing to offer advice and suggestions but also happy to do exactly what I ask. She’s professional but also very friendly. Every time I leave the salon I feel that I’ve had a great experience.

I can’t recommend Jessica enough. She understands hair much more than any other stylist I’ve known, and has advised me on both colour and cut with gorgeous results. She’s superb.. The salon itself is great - friendly, welcoming and stylish. Best Aveda salon by miles, and I’ve been using Aveda for 15 years!

Jessica is amazing! She is very attentive to her customers’ needs and is very meticulous with her work. She was able to guide me so we could achieve the colour I wanted and helped me find an option that was easier to maintain. With her, my time at the salon is always a lovely and relaxing experience!

So so happy with my new hair! Went in not really knowing what to expect, everyone was lovely - i had really nice aveda tea, a complementary head and neck massage and came out very happy! Wasnt 100% sure how to explain what I wanted but came out with it bang on. Will definitely be going back

As ever a visit to Edward James is a joy. There is a feeling of real camaraderie in the salon & the care received is always exceptional. It is the little details that make it so special; the unique decor, comfortable massage chairs, adjustable sinks ( no more cricked necks), complimentary hand/shoulder massage & a great selection of drinks, beautifully presented & again complimentary.
Having a fringe I really appreciate the free fringe trim between appointments. There is a huge range of Aveda products available & the range of products, treatments & styling is always evolving.

Great job with the hair as always. Just the person at the desk and phone - she is exceptionally rude and takes genuine offence when requested an appointment. It’s so rude that it’s almost funny.

I have been disappointed with the cut , asked to trim my fringe and it’s not straight and too short when I asked below my eyebrows
