TONI&GUY Islington

The hairdressers and the people who work on service are wonderful at the Angel Islington salon.
However, the salon itself is in a shocking state for an international business concern:
- there was hardly any heating working (in 3 degree weather) and all customers were complaining about it
- the plugs near the one effective heater did not work which meant I had to move to another seat which was near the window and freezing
- there are tiles and broken corners of plaster lying around
- some of the chairs, tables and standing heaters do not work

For such an expensive service this is all utterly unacceptable

Having my hair cut by a celebrity is out of this world and she does wonders for my bald spot!!
I think I might be falling head over heals in love with her...

I have been going to Toni&Guy for over a year and they are always fantastic. Very polite upon arrival, great service and always get the colour I wanted. An overall lovely experience.

It's taken me 9 years of living in London to find a hairdresser who knows how to cut my hair. Love Tony & Guy and am very lucky to have found Victor...

I have had an excellent cut and blow dry today I always get treated well. Staff are very friendly and polite.

It was my first time at this salon. The stylist Tobia was very kind and approachable at all times. He really listen to what I wanted to do with my hair and offered me some advice which I took. He really got spot on my wishes. He dedicated me one hour using all the technicality that I love from T&G. I have definitely found the stylist that I've been looking for years! Amazing experience!

I was not happy with my end result at all. Before he washed my hair I told him what I wanted and showed pictures. I said my hair does not hold a curl very well so you must use product and I want this to last all night as I will be outside. One product was put in my hair, a protein spray, nothing to do with hold or texture. Began to dry my hair and I said I wanted it pulled back away from my face, it was on one side but not the other. When he said he was done I asked if he could curl part of it as I know it's not going to hold, it was just a light wave. He took the blow dryer back to it, then finally got out the flat iron to do the last little bit. He sprayed some hairspray and that was it. I walked 20 seconds to the car parked out front, drove home which was 3 mins away, got out of the car and walked to my front door. Within those few seconds of being outside in humidity... my hair was straight. I was not happy! When I got home I ended up redoing it myself, shouldn't have to after paying £50! Will not be going back or recommending this salon

Gabriele cut my hair- at last! He adores long hair and his passion for giving you a hair cut that suits you was exactly what I needed! He shaped my hair for a full look and knew exactly how to cut it for a flattering finish.

I will only let Gabriele cut my hair from now on- thank you!

The Angel Islington branch is the best salon and I've been to a few in my time! Katie is such a brilliant hairdresser and so warm and friendly too. It's such an easy experience going here for a hair cut and colour. You get expert advice, a professional cut and colour using quality products, everyone's friendly and you come out feeling great. Thanks Angel T&G, especially Katie.

Asked if I wanted a drink by 4 different people, but a glass of water never came. Asked how I wanted my blow dry to be done- I said flat at the top, smooth with some waves, same as I came in with. Result was ringlets. Not terrible but not great. Attempt to up sell me a treatment - I thought that horrible rouse was over 10 years ago. Price is never mentioned despite being an additional 50% on top of overall visit cost. Just felt like I was having my hair done at nandos. The guys who did my blow dry was lovely, but the overall experience and result were a bit disappointing

Victor at Toni and guy Islington did an amazing job. Friendly, listened to what I wanted and gave me a great versatile cut with lots of body and movement. I will definitely return.

Called Toni and Guy and was able to get an appointment the following day. Friendly staff, really good colour and cut, will be going back again.

I had a cut and blow dry with a senior stylist yesterday and the haircut and service was excellent. I was given five star treatment and was dealt with quickly and efficiently and was very happy with my hairdresser.

Very pleased Victior an excellent stylist .

Tash did a great job with my colour (and trying to correct my cut at the end).

Unfortunately I cannot say the same for *** with my cut. I am desperately unhappy and will need to come back to have it corrected please.

In particular, it is really missing a professional shape and finishing touch that I would expect from Tony & Guy.

It is really nothing personal, but I would like to be sure that next time I can meet with a senior stylist who can make the corrections.

I get my haircuts done by Victor who is very talented and great to chat to. Unfortunately the reception staff are sometimes a bit unenthusiastic.

After 10 years of using barbers, I'm glad to say I won't be going back to those places. A really great guy called Tobia gave me a top notch consultation, followed by a great cut and style that I've often hoped for when gambling by going to my local barber shop. Very happy with the finished cut and experience. The days of dreading going to get my haircut and it's experience/outcome are over! Will most definitely be back! Thanks Tobia

I had my hair coloured by Chloe and my hair cut my Michel. Colour is really nice and cut was really good. I will definitely go back again.

Aleisha is an amazing colourist and hairdresser, I look forward to the experience. She has been my colourist for years (about 5 I think- maybe longer) and I know it will always be brilliant.

I find it very hard to find a hair dresser who can do short women's hair well, so I've been delighted the last couple of times I've been to this salon to walk away with a hair cut I'm really happy with. I've walked away from lots of other places embarrassed and disappointed so often!

Gabrielle who cut my hair was lovely and the staff are very attentative to make sure you're comfortable, have a drink if you'd like one and have magazines to keep you occupied (good fashion focussed ones and up to date too!)

The best hair salon I have been to! Customer service was excellent and they were very fast. My colour was done by Alberto and he got it spot on even gave me a blow-dry and curl to finish off.

Ryan was great and everyone was very friendly - as always. So generally, it was a good experience.

But there's one thing I think really needs to be looked at.

I have never known sinks so uncomfortable as the ones in the salon.

I noticed my neck was really sore after my appointment last Saturday and it gradually got worse to the point of having a couple of days off work. A couple of massages later and I'm currently away on holiday still in a massive amount of pain. I know it sounds a bit melodramatic and I'm not normally someone who moans about stuff, but I genuinely believe it was sitting at the sink that triggered it.

Everything else about my experience at the salon is always great but this has been a big issue.

I visited Tony and Guy Islington Angel on Saturday 17/9/16. Although the shop opened late the staff tried to keep customers in the loop, they offered to get us hot drinks while we waited outside then once inside they were very organised, friendly and apologetic. Ryan eased cut and blow dried my hair, he was friendly, knowledgable and compitant. I had a great cut and will defiantly be back again for it to be maintained. The staff are really officiant and work well in a very professional manner even when things go in an unexpected manner. I was made to feel welcome and that my input to my hair cut really mattered by Ryan when took care of my hair on the day. Thank you to all at the salon.

Great initial haircut. Noticed a slight difference in length of sideburns next morning and they sorted as quickly as they could with no fuss. Can't ask for more than that.

Had a great experience in this lovely little Tony & Guy salon in Islington.
I was going for quite an extreme change and Michele, the stylist, was extremely patient and helpful in helping me decide on the specifics of the cut. He then proceeded to give me the best haircut I've ever had.
Would recomend !

Excellent service and cut

I went because I was not happy with my current stylist. Michele understood what I was after and did a great job. I arrived early but he was immediately there. Really good conversation, I felt very comfortable. Highly recommended.
