Mum and daughter hairstyling
3.0
Appointment verified by SaloniQ Software
Prior to booking I had asked if HOB would be able to do hair styling for both myself and my daughter for her bat mitzvah and was told “we do everything”.
When I arrived for our appointment however, the stylist told me she couldn’t do up-dos or even pin my hair to one side, which was disappointing.
My daughter went first and had braids on the sides with the rest of her hair curled at the bottom. She looked gorgeous and we were very happy.
Then it was my turn. We talked through some options and I asked if I could have a wavy/curly blow dry. The stylist largely achieved the curls but I felt my hair looked frizzy and not sleek or glamorous. It was falling into my face. I was left feeling disappointed.
She went over a few bits at the front with straighteners and then kept asking if I felt happier. I actually felt more and more uncomfortable at this point but didn’t want to make a scene.
I didn’t walk out the salon feeling brilliant if I’m honest and after our appointment i had a friend who is a hair stylist go over it and redo parts.
Sorry to say but we won’t be returning. Lovely job on my daughter’s hair but I felt the stylist was out of depth with what I had wanted to achieve. As a hair professional she should have known herself that my hair didn’t look finished and she should have wanted to get it right.
I felt sorry for her as well as she is young and could have benefited from a colleague stepping in to help - but no one did.
