Laura talked me through everything a long time before I decided to go for it, I was nervous about colouring from past experiences. Couldn’t be happier with the result.. very natural, and done with such care.

IN TEARS LEAVING THE SALON. My first haircut and style in 8 months since having a baby and I cried the whole walk home. I thought I was in safe hands reading the reviews online but it appears not! Firstly, I wasn’t greeted with a warm welcome by the girl at the reception area. She just looked at me and then looked towards Roy who seemed pleasant enough but not like what I had anticipated from other glowing reviews! My hair cut was ‘ok’ but I said I wasn’t so keen on the very blunt, choppy framing at the front. Roy seemed to take offence to this and then cut into the layers and the length and left me with wispy, jagged ends throughout the whole of my hair. I wasn’t even asked how I wanted it styled or dried but the several photos I showed Roy depicted voluminous bouncy blow dries. I left with deflated, flat, the poker straight hair that actually felt quite greasy so I put it up in my hair clip before leaving. When I commented that I would have preferred a bouncy blow dry he said ‘well you came in with straightened hair’. Well, I don’t know anyone that wants to leave the salon looking the same as when they came in?! He offered to ‘do some curls or something’ if I could come back later but I shouldn’t have to come back when I had already showed him photos of what I wanted! I have an event this evening and the whole point of me coming to have my hair done was to look lovely for this event. I wouldn’t even say this hair looks nice enough to go to my local pub to watch the rugby. I wouldn’t recommend this salon to anyone who wants to feel special or wants to leave feeling fabulous or glamorous. I now have to wash and style my hair at home after spending two hours in the salon. Not the 5 star experience I expected so please be mindful when reading reviews and booking this salon!
*I have just realised the stylist’s name was Ron and not Roy. It would have been nice to have been introduced baring in mind I was a new client.

We are deeply sorry you were disappointed on this occasion. We can assure you this isn’t the level of care or satisfaction we aim to give and as you can see from 99% of our reviews, this experience falls far below our usual standard.
Ron did offer to see you again at the end of the day which, understandably if you were unhappy with the experience or were short on time, you declined. A discount was also given on the day and I am sorry if that was not made clear.
Our salon owner called you within one hour of your review being posted. He too offered to redo your hair. We had hoped you might feel more assured being in the business owner’s hands. He has called you again today and left another message and his private mobile number.
If there is a way we can make this right for you, please call us. If not, please pop into the St Margarets branch where we will be happy to offer you a refund in full.
We are truly sorry the experience fell short of your expectation, especially so as it was your first haircut since having a baby.

First trim since first lockdown, had forgotten what a treat going to the hairdresser is. Ron did a lovely wash, head massage, cut, style and blow-dry. Lots of useful info about products as well. I've been going to David Masters for years and will continue to do so.
