About us

We are a unique and quirky salon in the heart of Southsea, small and personal but pay great attention to detail. We use only Kevin Murphy products in our salon. Kevin Murphy is a hairstyling guru based in Australia and he is famous for producing a highly exclusive range of hair products that are distinctive not only for their quality but for their environmental and hair/skin-friendly properties. Kevin Murphy hair products are paraben-free and cruelty-free and in recent times Kevin Murphy is one of the very few companies in the world that package all of their products using recycled Ocean Waste Plastic. This is why we are proud to be a Kevin Murphy ‘Session Salon’ – one of a small number of elite salon’s to achieve this status.

Being a KEVIN.MURPHY session salon we strive to be as environmentally-focused and cruelty-free as possible whilst still being on the forefront of fashion. We are proud to be part of a small but growing number of shops and salons in Southsea that are trying to operate in the most environmentally responsible way that we can, constantly looking for better and more environmentally friendly ways of doing things.

Jai was amazing, he really listened to me and what i wanted done and did it absolutely perfectly! he even wakes me through each step of the styling process so i could recreate it at home. incredible service! will deffo be back!

Having stalked Jai from the Barbership where I was always very happy with the trims he provided, I now come to The Green Room and I always leave extremely satisfied not only with the cut but the full service from start to finish. Jai always makes me feel very welcome and I can chat and laugh with him like a friend. I put my faith in him last night and went for some colour in my hair for the first time, and I'm over the moon with how it looks. Jai is always willing to give advice and answers my questions when it comes to styling...he knows his stuff!

It’s the first time I’ve been to the Green Room and I won’t be going anywhere else in future. Not only did Jai do a brilliant job, but he also took time to explain to me how I could keep my hair looking as lovely as he has.

Jai was a fantastic stylist, talked me through what he was doing. Cut my hair down in levels so we could get the right length, and took my cowlicks in to account when cutting my fringe to make sure that I wouldn't have any issues. Absolutely fantastic.

I visit family in Portsmouth and try and have my hair cut at The Green Room when I’m here. . It’s worth the 125 mile trip!
Always a warm welcome, a good chit chat and great hair cut. Paige always discusses my hair and what we’re doing today. She gives good sound advice and always double checks that I’m happy as we go along. And checks my hair again once it’s dry to see if there is anything needs tweaking. I always come away feeling confident that I have a good cut to walk down the street. I will definitely be booking my next appointment for when I am next in the area.
