Prior to my first visit to William Charles in Tenterden, I had never enjoyed visiting any hairdresser, it was a chore, or a necessary evil, where I sat in my discomfort and on occasion listened to women at their worst.
Travelling the 30+ miles into the countryside to visit a hairdresser seems like utter madness but after my first visit to William Charles, I was hooked. Visiting William Charles for me is a journey into Wonderland, full of kind and talented people who radiate good vibes.
Now rarely do I believe I have a view worth sharing but after my most recent experience, it seems churlish not to, so here goes.
I had no comprehension of how completely distressing losing hair could feel. One morning having left more hair in the drain than on my head (a lovely side-effect of the ever-generous long Covid), I called Russell at William Charles and cried something like, “please help, I look Gollum out of Lord of the rings”. Russell was wonderful, he booked me in, calmed me down and navigated my hysteria with the kindness and professionalism that is William Charles.
It was with trepidation I arrived at my appointment. Rona as warm and welcoming as always, took the time to talk honestly about the outcomes, new style and treatments I could try. I had guessed, my hair would have to be cut significantly, but I have always had longer hair and I was dreading it. Rona is amazing, not only did she restyle my hair and make it look fabulous, but she also made me feel more confident and accepting of my hair follicle situation. Truth is there is no one other than Rona, I would have trusted to cut my hair.
I left William Charles feeling serene, fabulous, and loving my new haircut, that my friends is MAGIC.
