Saks Hair York

Had a fab visit to the salon on Thursday afternoon. It was really calm and relaxed. I felt very cared for. And also, just as importantly I left feeling very happy with my hair. Thanks to Holly and her other colleague (whose name I didn’t catch but she was lovely too).

I think a business that goes the extra mile and pride themselves on their clients, focusing on their wants and needs, the overall experience and welcome feedback to improve will always carry a label nothing short of OUTSTANDING.

Ashley’s Saks of York is one of these.

If you don’t care much for an awesome hair style and not too fussed for a great overall experience. Then Saks is probably not for you.

My hair was taken from shoulder length to very short today. Robyn talked me through every part of the process and gave me advice on how to keep it looking good. I feel like a new woman!

Everyone was very friendly and accommodating of my additional needs, Ashley took their time to go find out what I was wanting. He made me feel at ease which is something I normally struggle with which in social situations. Ashley took the time to go through all the steps I'd need to be able to take care of my hair in a way that i could understand. I've never had my hair cut by someone that understands what works best for my hair and I can't thank enough for how much it's improved my confidence. Also that ices oat milk mocha was amazing.

I’ve been to Saks numerous times now. And every single time, not a one-off, I love the result.

Holly colours and cuts my hair and every time I love how it looks and feels.

Holly is not only amazing at what she does, but she’s absolutely lovely and very friendly.

I love the whole experience too - the location is handy; the salon looks great and there's a lovely friendly feel to it; I love the background music; and the staff are all very friendly and professional and amazing at what they do.

My husband and daughter also have their hair done at Saks, and we’ve always loved the results and had a great experience.

Saks is a cosmopolitan oasis in York’s city center. It’s a gorgeous space with lux details, friendly staff, and a bar onsite. Not to mention, Ashley is a master at what he does and a gem of a human being. I love going there and I love how my hair looks every time. Thanks so much!

Brilliant service, all the staff are so welcoming and enjoyable to talk to. Ashley has cut my hair for at least thirty-five years so we have a great understanding of each other.

Louise expertly did my colour, which I just adore. I love seeing the different balayage tones coming through from under the darker top colour..So happy with my colour!

Holly did my cut today, and took me from a blunt bob to a more structured, layered and modern look, through chatting and her understanding of how comfortable I was with a change. Delighted!

Fabulous hair cut. Ashley is a very experienced stylist who listens to his clients and provides sound advice/ solutions to hair issues. Excellent quality hair products used and a lovely atmosphere in the salon.

Saks has always been an oasis of calm for me throughout all the years I've been coming to the salon. I've seen apprentices blossom into stylists as they've qualified but one thing that has never changed has been the standard of service and friendly atmosphere which Ashley has insisted upon.
If I could award 11 out of 10 I would: that's what this deserves.

When we arrive we are always welcomed with a smile and offered a drink.
Robyn and Holly always have plenty of time to listen and discuss what we would like to do. In the end we always leave feeling happy and looking fab.

I have to make a lot of decisions in life. The one thing I don't have to decide or think about though is my hair. Ashley has been fully in charge of that for years. He knows what styles suit me, he knows I get bored easily and like to change frequently, he tells me each time what hair cut I am getting that day, and its always glorious. That's the system we have worked out together and reflects my preference, I ask him to decide and tell me. He also knows I dont have much time to style and that I sometimes leave too much time between appointments. He cuts my hair so that it looks great as it lies naturally, and so that it grows out well. I love my Saks hair days, my cup of tea and moment of peace. Its one of my favourite things.

I’m always impressed by the shape of Robyn’s cuts … they last and she always takes into account what I’ve asked. I also greatly enjoy our conversations!
