TONI&GUY YORK opened in the town in 1998.

We are committed to providing the ultimate salon experience, paying great attention to customer service. Our talented team of stylists and technicians are on hand to give you expert advice on the latest trends and services.

Members of our salon are part of the TONI&GUY Session Team and have worked alongside the International Artistic Team on catwalk shows at London Fashion Week, bringing the latest trends from the catwalk to our clients.

Members of our Colour team hold the prestigious Wella master colour expert-their knowledge and expertise are on hand to advise you on the latest colours and techniques.

We offer many additional services including Bridal and Occasion hair, the NanoKeratin Smoothing blow-dry and Microlinks/ring Tape extensions. Our wide range of haircare products include label.m, Kerastase, GHD, Wella, Tangle Teezer to keep your hair salon perfect until your next visit.

I’ve been to a few different Toni and guys hairdressers before and been really satisfied. However on this occasion the york one was embarrassing for me. I had my hair cut and dried and all the other ones I’ve always had my hair straightened before I leave this time they didn’t bother. My hair is really thick and that day I was going out for lunch with friends. I was embarrassed to leave with my hair Looking horrendous. I was embarrassed walking around York all day feeling conscious of my appearance. I Even mentioned I always have to straighten hair before going anywhere. I felt like crying

I was very pleased with my colour and cut. However I was kept waiting for approximately 30minutes between washing my hair and seeing Holly. I had my hair washed a second time which I presume was to fill in time. At no point during that wait was I approached and apologised to. It was explained to me that Holly’s previous customer had been 20 minutes late for her appointment which had a knock on effect but I was penalised not her even though that lady is apparently always late.
This is the second occasion where appointments have been messed up. I expect better of Toni & GUY

I arrived with my six year old in tow. He sat quite happy throughout. Liam was professional and likeable. He told me what would work and why. I had previously been a bit too relaxed when bleaching my own hair at home, and had some quite uneven, unnatural colours through it. So anything different was a bonus.

There was no pressure to make small talk and I was able to complete my work on my phone guilt free.

I’m never comfortable when having my hair washed at a salon; today was no different. I’m 5’2 and the groove in the sink hurts my neck. Though in this instance, having a massaging chair helps distract me. Unfortunately, the woman washing my hair, forgot to turn it on again when she left me in the sink with a toner on for ten minutes.

When my hair was dry and finished, I allowed myself to properly look in the mirror. I was blown away.

After having previous salon disasters where I strike out my battle ground, to mild disappointments that I quietly accept; I can truthfully say my hair superseded my expectations. It was as though he managed to take the visual I had in my head and give it a coating of gloss. The colour is perfect and it looks natural. I wouldn’t go to anyone else now.

Advice: one thing I’ve picked up in my 42 years - is your hair is only as good as the hairdresser doing your hair, not the name above the door.

I have been coming to the York saloon for over 10 years every 6 weeks. I can not express how disappointed I was with the new make over of the salon. It is cold, industrial and uncomfortable. Don’t know who designed the decor but it is truly awful. I shall continue to come as Holly is such a super stylist but please get rid of the concrete and get some comfy chairs
