TONI&GUY YORK opened in the town in 1998.

We are committed to providing the ultimate salon experience, paying great attention to customer service. Our talented team of stylists and technicians are on hand to give you expert advice on the latest trends and services.

Members of our salon are part of the TONI&GUY Session Team and have worked alongside the International Artistic Team on catwalk shows at London Fashion Week, bringing the latest trends from the catwalk to our clients.

Members of our Colour team hold the prestigious Wella master colour expert-their knowledge and expertise are on hand to advise you on the latest colours and techniques.

We offer many additional services including Bridal and Occasion hair, the NanoKeratin Smoothing blow-dry and Microlinks/ring Tape extensions. Our wide range of haircare products include label.m, Kerastase, GHD, Wella, Tangle Teezer to keep your hair salon perfect until your next visit.

An amazing cut, she took incredible care and gave exactly what l asked for. I asked for a ‘mad’ straight, short fringe and got it! I found the music MUCH too loud, we almost had to shout st each other and she had the volume reduced. Much more calm and relaxing. The music does not need to be ‘wedding disco’ type or volume.

I love Tilly! She's fantastic, cuts my hair exactly as I want it and makes it look even better than I ask for. A lot of stylists here can't seem to handle my very fine Asian hair well but Tilly does. And she's super fast and efficient too. In an out of the salon with a super hair cut in less than an hour. Great friendly efficient service from the whole team too!

I hate giving poor reviews as I know what it's like to receive them! So here's my attempt to be constructive.

I chose the salon experience just as a treat from my usual barber, but felt the end result wasn't massively different.

The front of salon staff were very friendly and welcoming. The shampooing guy (is that the right name?) coped admirably with the fact that I am deaf and couldn't lip read his instructions - although the neck on bowl thing was a bit uncomfortable (maybe I was on edge due to communication difficulties). I was asked if I wanted a drink five times (I did wonder by the end if asking for a beer was acceptable).

On the negative side, I said this was my first salon experience but I was whisked around a bit so didn't really get if I was following etiquette. The cut itself didn't seem hugely confident, the stylist being a bit shy of the clippers! The end style looked okay but not a 'wow' for the difference in price. And when I got home, I could see the hair was uneven on top and some stray long hairs in the short clipped bits.

Maybe I was too fussy and/or should have explained my deafness beforehand. I think poor communication also put off the stylist as I don't usually have a chat during my cuts. Perhaps I am better suited for the rough and ready barber experience? Sorry!

I decided that my fringe wasn’t working for me and my hair needed shaping up before my upcoming holidays. My hair had become lighter in the sunshine and had lost some of its chestnut shine and I’d spotted a few grey hairs that were becoming more noticeable. Holly gave me excellent advice on different approaches to tackling this and gave my hair a revamp in a cut which made my hair look thicker and much tidier. My finge was styled and swept to one side where it is less annoying and looks neatand easier for me to manage. Overall great advice and a super cut.
