I have been going to Sutherland and Barnett for a while now. I couldn’t book in with my usual stylist. Instead Charlotte cut and coloured my. Really a brilliant cut and colour.
Always very happy with the results at Sutherland and Barnett.

Kate has been cutting my hair for almost 20 years now coping fabulously with my various different whims.

Short, long, blonde, brunette, flashes of colour or my greyer locks now.. Kate always delivers divine hairdos but in a way that complements me, not only aesthetically, but me as a person. You can discuss ideas and that great hairdo you were after, but ensure that the version of it you get will suit *you* and is realistic to maintain.

Kate’s ability to colour hair is second to none: for many years I had a glossy deep brown that she mixed with a squirt of red and blue (!), giving it a wonderful deep shine and quite literally had people stop to ask about it; my hair now is mostly grey and she has done a fantastic job of blending through cool and warm blondes - no toner, under half a head of highlights, and my hair looks divinely, naturally blonde.

My hair is fine but if you have thick hair, fear not - she cuts my best friend’s hair (the thickest hair known to man) just as beautifully. (Highlights it too which deserves an award as it takes about half a day!).

On top of all that, not only are you getting an extraordinary stylist and colourist, you’re getting a thoroughly lovely human. Funny, approachable and caring, and again, tailored to you - if it is your only hour of the week you get to yourself, basking in silence is very much respected; if you like to have a natter and put some of the world to rights, that’s equally comfortable.

I moved up to the North East 5 years ago - tried other salons and stylists and they didn’t even come close. I decided I’d rather travel the 5-hour round journey and have it done less often. Even yesterday, when that journey turned into 9 hours (crazy traffic and a stationary 11 mile tailback on the M1), I sat there in a 26 degree car with broken air con, beaming at my new hair, feeling like a million dollars and looking forward to my next visit.

Excellent salon.

Have been having my hair done for years here but have been to other more local salons intermittently when on maternity leave.

Haven't found a salon to beat it for professionalism and quality of colouring/styling.

Had Hayley for years and just swapped to Natalie after Hayley left and equally as happy.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere- as ever - @ S&B. Good to see Jess’s smiling face after 2 years! Though mask wearing clients were also respected.

Having your hair cut at Sutherland & Barnett is an experience not just a haircut. As soon as you walk in there is a genuine sense of welcome and care, nothing is too much trouble.
I always enjoy my cut and colour with Jess, no holiday or what are you doing tonight chat but throughly interesting conversations interspersed by Andrew and Craig adding their opinions..
Jess is extremely talented and creative hairdresser I have never had a bad cut which is quite a feat with my hair.
I particularly enjoy relaxing on the new air pressure massage chairs having my hair washed and head massaged.
This salon. Is totally dedicated to recycling all their waste, even your hair goes to mop up oil slicks in our oceans., respect.
A wonderful salon to relax, be pampered, stimulated and leave feeling refreshed, revived and renewed with the knowledge that my colour and cut has had less impact on the environment because of their wonderful recycling stance.. Thank you ?

Apart from the extraordinary talent and high level of competency in their art, S&B is a customer focused salon with a friendly atmosphere and comfortable environment. Charlotte - who has just officially been promoted to stylist - rescued my hair with highlights and a cut today. She really listened to what I wanted and delivered. I’m chuffed with the result! I have been coming here for years, Craig is a phenomenal stylist and Destiny a genius with colour. Relaxed and informal atmosphere I never leave disappointed!

I was nervous about trying a new hairdresser after a bad experience elsewhere. Jess did a great cut, reassured me loads and really listened. Worth every penny. Highly recommended :)

As usual my visit today was great. I would like to use a Coco Chanel quote. "Fashion fades style remains" this sums up Sutherland & Barnett. A beautifully stylish hair cut and the coffee is great!

As well as a fab haircut, I got the best coffee, restaurant recommendations, and car park validation. All of the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Such a nice environment

The whole experience from discussing style, cut and what works for me was excellent. The massage chairs were so good and certainly relaxing.

Relaxing atmosphere and professional but friendly service. Nowhere better in nottingham.

Lots of people comment on my hair and how much they like both the cut and the colour. Craig is a brilliant stylist. He listens and offers different ideas to achieve what I want. The cut is so good I can wash and leave it to dry most days and it still looks grear. The whole salon experience is so relaxing.

As always I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Everyone is so friendly and professional. A visit to the salon is always a highlight for me!
