Boilerhouse Hair and Beauty Salon Jesmond

I came in asking for length of my hair and my bangs redone. I left with a square on my forehead and curled hair (my “bangs” were not curled for some reason?) and I paid £60. This is ridiculous, a joke and I’m appalled with the expenses compared to the service quality. I will NEVER be coming back; the woman styling my hair completely ignored my requests to leave my bangs long enough to tuck behind my ears and instead gave me a recreation of my 2021 lockdown fringe. I’m completely devastated and I want my hair back.

I have recently had a balayage done by Gabi and and a cut by Vicky. So pleased with the results. They have done a wonderful job of my hair.

I have been coming to Jo for a number of years and I love her enthusiasm for what she does. She always takes him to listen to your cut/colour thoughts, but is great at offering her own advice (which is always spot on!). She had some really helpful suggestions about a colour change this visit and I am totally delighted with the results. Thank you so much, from another Jo!

I got HD brows for the first time and they look amazing! Great colour shape and makeup used! Can’t recommend enough and incredible price and service! Lots of advice as well on how to look after my eyebrows after too much lamination had ruined them! Will definitely be coming back!

As always a professional, personal appointment with Margaret, who always makes a fabulous job of my hair.

I'd hears great things from friends, and was excited to treat myself to a haircut as I can't afford it often. I told my stylist that I was growing out a mullet and wanted it tidied up and thinned out. But all she heard was mullet so cut one back in. Several times I said I don't want a mullet and she said yes that's fine, but continued to cut it in. She also didn't listen to what I was saying generally as she was asking me about myself and kept assuming I was a university student to which I said I wasn't, then 10 mins later asked me what I studied at university. She was obviously distracted and after several times trying to correct her I just accepted that she'd cut my hair as she did and it was too late, and I'm not the person to make a fuss in the moment but I would suggest making sure you listen to your customers about what they want and checking in. I understand my stylist was probably distracted but when paying up to £50 for a professional haircut I'd expect to be listened to at least.

My first visit, definitely won’t be my last! Sophie was absolutely brilliant, she understood what I wanted from my incredibly poor description. She gave me great advice about the hair products I use and how I can manage my hair better. She talked me through doing my hair myself, in a really easy to understand way. The salon is gorgeous and everyone that I spoke to was super friendly and helpful.
