About us

TONI&GUY Newcastle-upon-Tyne opened in the city centre in 1995, recently relocating to Haymarket. We are committed to providing the ultimate salon experience, paying great attention to customer service.

Our talented team of stylists and technicians are on hand to give you expert advice and create hair that is individual and easy to live with, interpreting fashion trends with versatile wearable styles. Members of our salon are part of the TONI&GUY Session Team and have worked alongside the International Artistic Team on catwalk shows at London Fashion Week, bringing the latest trends from the catwalk to our clients.

We offer many additional services including Bridal and Occasion hair and the NanoKeratin Smoothing blow-dry. Our wide range of haircare products include label.m, Kerastase, GHD, L’Oreal and Tangle Teezer to keep your hair salon perfect until your next visit.

STRENGTH IN STYLE
Strength in Style is now available in this salon, offering people affected by cancer specialist support and advice on hair care. This service includes styling pre, during and post treatment hair, and wig personalisation with the option to purchase synthetic and human hair wigs. Libby is the best hair stylist I’ve ever had. She’s so creative and always helps me try out new looks for my hair that I can sustain. Libby’s knowledge and expertise is amazing. Every time I go i always laugh, and am made to feel at ease.

It wasn't a good hair cut.. nor a bad one.

I understand this is busy times but I felt that the whole process was rushed and the stylist did not have a lot of time to fine tune things.
He was canny enough and cut my hair as I requested but then didn't style it afterwards so it's hard to tell the quality of the cut- it was just blowdried and half wavey/ straight/ frizzy then he rushed off to do the next customer waiting.

I did notice staff cleaning down chairs/stations in-between customers but i also noticed a range of different hairs remaining in the hair brushes used.

As I say it was not a bad haircut but I left the salon feeling like my hair looked straggly rather than radiant which is what is desired when you've had you hair done.
Overall wouldn't say it was worth the amount of money charged/paid

I’ve been coming to Toni and Guy for many years now and can’t fault them at all. Libby is an amazing and talented stylist. She always goes that extra mile to make sure her clients are happy- it is clear that she genuinely cares for all her clients.
In the current climate, Toni and Guy have been able to successfully adapt the salon to ensure it is Covid secure whilst still managing to maintain the calming, relaxed atmosphere that we are all used to. Despite not being able to physically see their mouths due to mask requirements, you can still tell that each staff member is smiling and happy to greet clients. Fantastic service all round. Well done to all!

After visiting several hair stylists I have eventually found the one! My hair was getting me down because it started falling out in clumps due to illness and medication and I was actually embarrassed to talk to anyone about it... that was until I met Matthew. He discussed at length and actually listened to me which is somewhat unusual for some stylists. I changed my usual ‘I’ll book in when I can’ to having my regular cut and colour with Matthew and I’m back to feeling an awful lot more like my old self again. Thankfully Matthew actually doesn’t jump ship every 6 months to go to another salon either which is another plus in my opinion! All in all I certainly wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Requested a certain haircut that required a fade on the sides. During the cut I noticed they were using scissors to fade in my sides. After spending £50 I had to find a local barbers to sort out the sides of my hair as it wasn't straight on the back and the fade literally jumped up and down the back of my head. Couldn't complain about the top of the head though. I asked for it shorter on the sides. The lady picked up the small shears required to do this and said "I cant use these incase they run out of battery." I understand that Toni&Guy isn't a barbers. However, its basic stuff to get the fade straight at least and to try and achieve what the customer requested. Very friendly staff but unfortunately still very disappointed and won't be returning.
