I would select a stylist, but I wouldn’t know where to start given 4 different hairdressers had to attempt my hair. My hair is naturally light brown, yet is naturally ombréd and I have done my own highlights such that it mostly looked blonde. The roots grew out so I asked for these to be touched up with sun-kissed blonde highlights. After a 4 hour appointment, I left with grey hair. The toner, by no exaggeration, left me literally grey and distressed. I phoned up and booked an appointment for the next day to fix it, which I told would be easy. Obviously not. A ‘half hour’ appointment turned into 3 hours, and it became more grey than it was initially. This was the most traumatic experience of my life. I was originally told to wait until an appointment on Tuesday, but in distress I refused, and after trying 3 different toners, they finally offered to wash out the toner (this was an option from the off?!!). This washed out most of the grey, but never returned my self-dyed golden blonde tips. This has put me off hair dye (and going to the hairdressers in general) for life, and I will continue to self dye my hair, and, worst cade scenario, return to light brown hair.
