On the 4th June 1968 our founder and Managing Director Tony Marriott opened the first Headlines Hair salon in Southport and has since built-up a chain of professional salons across the North West.
Tony was the driving force to venture into the previously uncharted territory of in-house training. At this time training and qualifications for hairdressing were strictly technical college based. Demand was great even with strong opposition and his sheer determination and passion won the day.
Tony was responsible for producing, implementing and delivering the forerunner of assessment aids and portfolio building to City & Guilds hairdressing NVQs. Headlines Hair were also the first hairdressing company to be awarded the coveted "Investors in people" status.
Headlines Hair and have produced a legacy of hairdressers, beauticians and customer service personnel, who's career paths have been influenced and shaped by being associated with Tony and the Headlines name.
